Interactive Workshop with Dr. Rigoberto Marquez

This presentation will focus on research with a group of mothers who have created a LGBT/Queer curriculum series that engages Latina/o(x) immigrant communities. Part of the presentation will focus on the research, while the latter part will provide participants an opportunity to engage in a couple of the activities they use in their teaching.

More Info: Rigoberto Marquez’s research interests include critical theories of race and sexuality in education, queer youth of color, Latina/o(x) youth, law and policy, social justice education, community health and public pedagogy. Rigoberto earned his PhD in Education (Division of Urban Schooling) from the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies and a Masters in Education Policy and Leadership from the University of Maryland, College Park.
