In Wyoming, shortly after the Civil War, bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russell) is escorting a prisoner, Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh) to Red Rock by stage coach to be hanged. They're joined on the coach by another bounty hunter, Major Marquise Warren (Samuel L. Jackson), and a Confederate soldier, Mannix (Walton Goggins).
A blizzard forces the stagecoach to make a stop at Minnie's Haberdashery, where the passengers encounter four sketchy strangers: Mexican Bob (Demian Bichir), flamboyant Oswaldo Mobray (Tim Roth), cowboy Joe Gage (Michael Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Bruce Dern). What follows are squabbles, violence and gunplay.

“Vitamin D and musculoskeletal health: a growing body
of evidence from infancy to aging.”
Vitamin D has long been known for its functional role in the prevention of rickets, osteomalacia and osteoporosis. Early research demonstrated that rickets and osteomalacia associate with proximal muscle weakness. Today, most Canadian’s have good vitamin D status. However, a significant proportion of newborn infants, Aboriginal groups and the elderly in long-term care are at an elevated risk for low vitamin D stores. Is it possible that improving vitamin D status could enhance muscle mass, reduce adiposity and improve bone health outcomes? This presentation will highlight recent surveys and trials in infants, children and aging adults that further position vitamin D in the interrelationships among muscle, fat and bone tissue.
Please join us for this talk. All members of the Western Community are welcome.

General Information
There is no charge, and no reservations are necessary; come and go as you please throughout the evening. The University has free parking on the weekends - park in the Alumni Lot right next to the Observatory!
This is a time to view the skies through the telescope and to pose your favorite questions to the astronomer hosting the evening. Objects viewed vary with the season, but might include the Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, binary stars, star clusters, planetary nebulae, or galaxies. There is nothing like seeing these wonders with your own eyes! There will also be a presentation of general astronomical interest to be held in the lecture theatre at one or more times during the evening.
In the event of cloudy skies, the observatory will still be open for slides and a look at the telescopes, but closing time might be earlier.
Members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada are also on hand with their portable telescopes set up on the Observatory balcony and front lawn. If you're interested in doing some astronomy as a hobby, these are the people to talk to.
