will present a talk entitled:
“Asymmetric Reductive Catalysis with Phosphorus Heterocycles”
ABSTRACT: Diazaphospholenes and triazaphospholenes are an emerging class of catalyst for hydride transfer. Our group’s recent synthesis of a convenient diazaphospholene precatalyst, and its exploration in imine hydroboration, conjugate reduction, and pyridine dearomatization will be discussed. Recent results indicate that diazaphospholenes are promising catalysts for the asymmetric hydroboration of imines, allowing the production of chiral secondary amines that are challenging to access through classical resolution protocols.
