Abstract:
I will be talking about Stormwater Management (SWM) Green Infrastructures (LIDs). The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) is leading the concepts of using the SWM LIDs for quantity control. Usually, the SWM LIDs are used for capturing the first 25 mm of rainfall but UTRCA is leading the concept of using the SWM LIDs for quantity control. The SWM LIDs are very effective for stormwater runoff quality as compared to conventional SWM approaches and also mimic the natural hydrologic cycle and thus helps in preserving the environment and help in improving the water quality. The use of the SWM LIDs are gaining popularity in the province and are also considered to help in improving the quality of water in the Lake Erie.
