A Lecture by Josee Drouin-Brisebois,
Contemporary Curator, The National Gallery of Canada
Ms. Drouin-Brisebois will be talking about her curatorial practice and experience organizing the Canadian representations for the 2011 and 2013 Venice biennales –offering a reflection on how she approaches exhibitions and the ideas that fuel her process. She will also share insights related to four exhibitions curated over the last 10 years. The first part of the lecture will consider two major thematic exhibitions, Caught in the Act: The Viewer as Performer, and Misled by Nature: Contemporary Art and the Baroque. In the second part, Ms. Drouin-Brisebois will discuss curating the national pavilion in Venice, including her current involvement in the upcoming Geoffrey Farmer 2017 participation.
