“Evanescent fields: Their sources and applications”
ABSTRACT
The talk will introduce three sources of evanescent fields: propagating surface plasmon polaritons, localized surface plasmons, and propagating waveguide modes.
Applications of these three types of optical evanescent fields in sensing, thin film analysis, and microscopy will be discussed.
Refreshments will be available.
