Tarek Rashwan is a PhD candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Western. During various TA roles since 2013, Tarek developed a strong interest in supporting effective teaching skills and professional development amongst his peers. As the 2016-2017 Lead TA for engineering, he worked with the Teaching Support Centre and developed a series of workshops to support teaching assistants in the engineering disciplines.
This upcoming Civil Seminar workshop will be a discussion-based workshop to draw from the experience of the graduate Civil and Environmental Engineering community. Topics for this discussion include general and TA-specific themes, such as strategies for effective communication and tips on leading tutorials, respectively.
